Bingham and Burnett win Golden Globe for "The Weary Kind"
Ryan Bingham and T Bone Burnett won the Golden Globe for best original song for "The Weary Kind", the theme tune to the film "Crazy Heart", continuing their relentless march towards the Oscars.
Jeff Bridges won the best actor award for his performance in the same film.
"It has come a long way from sitting on the tailguard of a truck in the middle of a parking lot playing to five or six people after the bar had shut down," Bingham told reporters after receiving the award on Sunday evening.
"I feel real privileged and honored to be in this company. It has been pretty amazing."
Bingham admitted that he had been in the bar when the announcement was made, leaving Burnett to receive the award on his own. "I just got up for a second," Bingham said.
The soundtrack to "Crazy Heart" is released today, and the film is due for UK release on February 19.
