Stand-up comedian Rich Hall is bringing his alter ego to the Maverick Festival.
Hall will appear in the guise of his "uncle", Otis Lee Crenshaw – the ex-convict country singer and bestselling author who has been married seven times to women named Brenda – at the festival, which runs June 30-July 2 at Easton Farm Park in Suffolk.
Crenshaw has been with Hall since 1998, and won the prestigious Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 2000. He has also released his memoirs, "I Blame Society", in which he discusses his colourful life in the slammer and his many marriages.
The Maverick Festival is now in its fourth year and will be headlined this year by Canadian legends Blue Rodeo. For more information, see the Backroads Maverick Festival page.
