Welcome to Backroads

January 16, 2010 Comments: 1

Welcome to Backroads, a new website dedicated to Americana, alt-country and roots music, covering both the artists and the venues, promoters, and record companies that bring the music to a UK audience.

Run by journalist Naomi Koppel, with a little help from my friends, Backroads will contain a mix of news, interviews, previews and reviews, with a fully interactive gig guide searchable by date, artist and venue, and an information page for every artist and venue.

The site was officially launched on January 13, 2010, but it will take a little longer to get everything in place, so please bear with me if the information you're looking for is not on the site, especially in the gig guide which takes quite a lot of time to set up. It will be coming over the next few days and weeks. If you have already e-mailed me information to include and it isn't here yet, please be assured that I will get to it.

There are also a few links that don't work yet. They will be up and working soon. And everything will interconnect much better – every artist will have a page that will link all the stories that make reference to them on the site, as well as their homepage/myspace page and a list of upcoming gigs. Every venue will have a page with details, contact numbers and upcoming gigs.

There will also be some music on the site shortly, I promise!

What a wonderful site!
