Tom Paxton reschedules UK tour for July

March 28, 2010 Comments: 1
Tom Paxton

Tom Paxton is returning to the UK after being forced to cancel his tour earlier this year because of his wife’s illness.

Dates have so far been announced in Norwich and Salford in early July, as well as one show in Northern Ireland and two in the Republic of Ireland later in the month.

Paxton cancelled his tour days before he was due to arrive in January in order to be with his wife, Midge. She is now doing well.

Now in his sixth decade as a performer, Paxton, 72, received a lifetime achievement award at the 2009 Grammys. His songs have been recorded by just about everybody, and he continues to write songs about the political situation of the moment as well as forever classics such as “The Last Thing on my Mind” and “Ramblin’ Boy”.
